My one word recommendation: Don't!

Years at this apartment: 2006 - 2008
I lived here for a little over a year after moving to the city. More out of desperation at not finding something else in the short amount of time I had.
The place is extremely shabby on the inside. The bedrooms are small, the bathrooms are terrible, as bad as poorly maintained public restrooms. When I moved in there was rust all over the metal hinges, sink faucets, etc. The living room was terribly designed. The paint on the walls was yellowish-white, and was cracked in many places and easily peeled off. The electric sockets were old, some worked others didn't. They gave me a new refrigerator and that was the highlight of the tiny kitchen, which couldn't fit more than one person. The stove was old, and had started to develop some rust. The cabinets were tiny and cramped. The worst part of the kitchen was the sink. The upstairs neighbors would constant block their sink over the course of the year (happened three times) and it flooded my kitchen and part of my living area with filthy water. They had to get a huge de-humidifier to dry my carpet as a result. Makes me sick just thinking about what I went through here.
I tell you, it was so bad from the inside, I just couldn't wait to find a better place...from day one. I was too embarrassed to bring anyone over.
Then let's see. From the outside, the small grounds were poorly maintained. Parking could be a pain if there was a UVA event nearby because outsiders would take up spots and management didn't do anything. The stickers they gave out were pretty useless in my opinion. For the first several months, there was construction next door and am I glad I was at work the entire day. Or I would have gone insane. I was suspicious of my neighbors. There was something odd about some of them. Being near UVA, I expected most to be students but the demographics turned out to be low-income households.
I think moving out of this place was the best thing I ever did since moving to Charlottesville.
If you move here after reading this review, please let us all know if you agreed or disagreed. I think you will definitely regret the decision.
