The worst place I've ever lived

From: jzadra@hotmail.com

Years at this apartment: 2005 - 2006

- Parking is impossible. If you want a spot for the week, your only hope is to grab a spot no later than Sunday morning. Don't even think about driving anywhere until Friday afternoon, or you'll never find another spot when you get back. There are a bunch of apartments on this street, and Wade doesn't provide any assigned parking. There are probably a hundred or more people fighting for the same 20 spots on the street.
- The free "broadband" internet is a joke; it's so slow its almost useless.
- There is a constant squealing, squeaking noise from the pipes or something in the basement, which due its proximity to this apartment, can be heard from every room and will slowly drive you insane.
- All the other apartments above this one seem to share the same water supply, the result being that anytime any other resident turns on their water, the shower here instantly goes scalding hot or freezing cold. This happens about 20 times every morning throughout my shower.
- The shelves in the kitchen are falling down, and are sloped so you have to place things in such a way that they won't slide forward and fall down.
- The wall between the kitchen and the next apartment is extremely thin, so if you like to listen to music or watch TV at night it will bother your neighbor, and likewise if you end up with a loud neighbor you'll hear everything. The same is true of the ceiling and here every step the person upstairs takes.
- You can't open any of the blinds if you want any privacy, as everyone from the sidewalk and next-door church parking lot looks directly into every room
- There is dirt and grime caked into every corner, in all the radiators, and in every crack. It was like this when I moved in.
- Almost none of the drawers or cupboard doors open or shut easily, quietly, and/or well. They've all been painted over so many times they either stick closed, don't open, or barely slide.
- The internet plug is on a wall too small for a desk and with no close-by power outlet. The result is that you end up with wires strung around the floor.
- If the sink has not been run for a couple days you'll get brown tap water when you get back.

The one good thing about this apartment is the location, but given the condition of the place and all its problems, it is grossly overpriced, and if you have a car and like to use it often, location doesn't do you much good when you can't even park where you live.
