It's ashame to see other people bashing Renee, the manager. She has always been very professional and helpful everytime I came to her with a concern. The problem is that she has to be fair to all tenants involved and follow proper procedure. So just because she doesn't go yelling and screaming at your neighbor for having their music too loud, doesn't mean she doesn't care...she's following protocol. She is ALWAYS friendly and has a sensible answer to every problem. aLKeoXpj3s4OSgrp1trb

I agree that Renee can be professional and helpful, but when we came to her with our problems (I'm the one with the water damage) she did nothing to fix it. I'm glad you haven't had any problems with the place, I wish I could say we didn't. I would have liked to live there for awhile longer, but Renee didn't do everything she could to fix the problems in our situation. Not that this makes any difference, but the women (Jen, Cindy, etc.) in the office, who I love by the way, don't believe that Renee is doing her job either. They've mentioned it to me and other renters on several occasions when I've gone to the office to get something fixed. Hope the rest of your stay at Belmont goes as well as you say. It's too bad that myself and others on this site couldn't say the same.

I agee completely. I am glad to know your experience has been positive w/ renee but unfortunately she has not demonstrated any professionalism or follow-through; she has not followed apt protocol when I've dealt w/ her.
I have good things to say about the other staff (ESPECIALLY CINDY, who apparently left a few weeks after we got here), who all seem to agree w/ tenants that she is a horrible manager but they have to put up w/ her if they want to keep their job.
I would not mind if she stays so long as she takes management courses to better her relationships w/ both tenants and her staff.

My mother moved to Belmont Jan 2007, prior to construction completion. When construction was complete they increased her rent $100 monthly. It is now time for her to renew the lease for 2009 or leave. I have been researching apartments in Hampton Roads online to help her with options, as I am in the military, stationed in another state, preparing to deploy to the Middle East. I want to know that she is in a comfortable, safe environment. I was reading the Belmont at Greenbrier website and noticed a SPECIAL they are offering thru the month of Nov 2008 (slight price reduction for a 2bed/2bath) and called my mother to share the news. She was very excited about upgrading from the tiny one bedroom she has resided in since 2007. She quickly called the rental office to inquire about the SPECIAL and asked specifically what restrictions (printed on bottom of online coupon) applied? A staff member told her "Oh that's just for legal purposes, there are no restrictions." She then went to the office to request to view the larger apt for which the special rate applied, stating her desire to upgrade while renewing her lease. The same staff member she spoke to on the phone just minutes before arriving at the office interrupted another staff member who was preparing to accompany my mother to the new apartment for a showing and said..."Oh, I think that apt has been rented"...my mother replys..."how can that be?.. I just spoke to you a few minutes ago on the phone and you said you have two apartments left?". The staff member looked at the other and said .".she is the new office manager and she can tell you ...the SPECIAL does not apply to you because you are not a new tenant",....FYI My mother has never submitted a late payment, keeps her apt well maintained, in addition to being a kind, considerate tenant, she is a proffessional, therefore she did not waste her time explaining Best Business Practices. Don't be fooled by the big banners plastered around the property that read "FREE RENT"...apparently some can afford to be selective when it comes to offering incentives to rent their property.
