Definitely some bad points :(

Years at this apartment: 2003 - 2004
I have lived here for 6 months and I am getting ready to move out in July. Everyone was very nice when we came to see the apartments and the apartments were reasonable plus they allowed 2 dogs- which was a major factor for me.
To start with, when I arrived the guy working did not have keys to my apartment! He said the maintenance guy was off and that he could be here in 30 minutes with the keys. My husband tried the door to the apartment and found out that maintenance had left it open with the keys inside. Great for moving in- very bad safety factor! My aunt and mom immediately set to cleaning the apartment because it was definitely not clean but, it ws similar to the clean job I've seen at most apartment complexes (I've lived in 5 in 6 years). I asked that they remove a big DirectTv satellite in a cement block when I moved in but, it is still there now. I've given up. Fortunately, I have not had any occasion to need maintenance. However, while they were installing new siding; they left the apartment buildings with no lighting at all. Some of the construction workers left their tools in the stairwell and I fell down a flight of stairs. When I called the office to complain, they did not even say sorry or ask me if I was ok! They said that they would have someone call me and no one ever did! I received notification recently that my one bedroom top floor apartment was going up to $1000 per month(approximately $200 increase!). I had a 2 bedroom 1500 square foot apartment on a golf course in Orlando FL for $1000 per month! Someone graffiti'd my back stairs with "this place sucks" about a month ago. They have still not done anything about it. All it takes is for someone to sand off the marker. It looks totally trashy and I hate it. Also, I received notification that I owed them more rent on my door. I have overpaid my rent by a few dollars every time because of the situation with the water (ie $22.42 water bill and I'd pay $25). Anyway, I went into the office and there were charges on my bill for escrow'' for $185. This had never been disclosed to me and the assistant could not explain it. Per my calculations, (from their print out) I have overpaid my rent by over $100 and they posted a notice on my door for payment and late fee! This charge is not on my lease at all and I am getting my lawyer to look at it. If anyone has any questions for me, I will leave my email. I have similar concerns as other people but, do not fear retribution since I am leaving anyway.
