All in all, this was a pretty nice place to live, until today. I had just recently returned from the hospital after my daughter was born. She was born premature by about 4 months. She was kept in the hospital for several days due to atypical weight loss, extreme jaundice, and unwilling to feed.
During that time, I was not getting paid and my next check would be light. The soonest I could get the rent was on my check, which would be 15 days late. I called the rental office and explained the situation, knowing that I would pay a late fee, but I just wanted to keep them informed that the rent would be there. I was then informed that if the rent was not in by the 11th, then I would also have to pay a $120 lawyer fee, on top of the $50 late fee. Wow, really. A medical emergency comes up and they have absolutely no leniency. I seriously doubt that I will even consider the possibility of staying here after this lease is up. I wish they never have a life or death emergency AND get bent over by money hungry SOB's.
