I have lived here for a little over a year and I have never had a significant problem. The few times I had something break maintanence was quick to come (usually the same day or next if the problem was reported later in the day) and always polite. The management staff has always been helpful and I have never had a problem with paperwork or my lease. The fitness center is decent and the pool a good size. I've never been disturbed by neighbors noise and everyone I've met here is nice. The location is very convenient, close to the interstate and 5 minutes away from a mall, walmart, many restuarants and stores. For military it is about a 20 minute comute to either norfolk naval base or little creek.

I do have a few complaints. The grounds are usually taken care of but there are many people who carelessly throw their ciggarette butts on the ground, and quite a few do not pick up after their pets. The apartment has tried to fix the problem, leaving many notices and fining people they catch. Also temperature control in the apartments doesn't always seem to work correctly, often a bit on the cold side. And lastly the water fee, one must pay atleast $22 even if you do not use a drop of water. This seems very unfair.

But overall I have enjoyed my stay at Alta Cove. I am moving out next month due to a job change, I have had no problems in breaking my lease. I had a small fee (half my rent) but I agreed to that when I signed my lease and understand why they must do it.

I would recommend this place to anyone who asked.
