I like to give people a chance in almost all situations. When we moved to Alta Cove, now known as Empirian Chesapeake, I felt the same way. The area looked beautiful, the staff was so nice, and the apartments were amazing. I was so excited about moving that I could barely stand it. However, my feelins quickly changed. it started when we weren't allowed to see the apartment until we had signed ALL of the paperwork.. then we did our walkthru. At other apartment complexes, this was done after the walkthru. Then, our first night in the apartment... it began. We heard every single noise from our upstairs neighbors. We could hear what room they were in and each time they walked. They had children that would run back and forth across the apartment at all times, staying up till eleven on most nights. We complained several times to the staff, who said they were contacting our neighbors to keep it down but it never got better. They eventually admitted that there are some sturctural issues with the first two buildings that make the noise barriers worse. Honestly, I couldn't stand it. Where I saw home as a place to relax, it was nothing but stress as I couldn't enjoy a dinner with friends, a movie, a book without hearing stomping and running above me. Finally, after listening to my neighbor urinate in his own bathroom, I knew we had to leave. Fortunately, I will give the staff credit because they made our move possible after only 4 months of renting, but it was definitely the worst living arrangements I have ever had... and considering the price of the places, it was unbelievable. I would strongly warn anyone from renting an apartment here. If you dont plan on being home, it might not be so bad... but don't waste your money. Be smart.. ask to spend a night in the place before renting it, talk to the neighbors about their complaints, look at places like this where you can gain wisdom. Remember most of all... LOOKS CAN BE DECEIVING!!!
