This is the real scoop on Ivystone. I used to work there and would'nt dream of renting an apartment there. In fact, if they gave me a free apartment I would'nt live there. The bottom line is the company that owns it (Bonaventure) is cheaper than any one you could ever imagine. In fact since I work there let me give you a breakdown on what they do to their residents.
1. NO NEW APPLIANCES- This place was built in 1984. The appliances are from guess what 1984. They do not give the residents new appliances. They tell us in maintenance to order parts for stoves, fridges, and dishwashers from 1984. If we can't get the part, then they tell us to rob a vacant of a old appliance and give it to a current resident.
2. NOTHING EVER GETS FIXED- I work there and trust me we work hard. The reason why residents don't get work orders done is because we don't have enough people in maintenance to do the work. There is only 5 of us in maintenance and only 3 of us are allowed to do work orders. Ivystone has 368 units that are 25 years old, and on top of that it has not been well kept for years. The volume of work orders is too much for 3 people to handle. We need at least 5 techs to do work orders but Bonaventure is so cheap, they won't hire us no help. The also tell us not to "bench stock" our shop so when residents have something that is broke, we have to order the part which can take up to 2 days.
3. BONAVENTURE JUST WANTS YOUR MONEY- You know if you live in a good place when you see the same faces in maintenance and the office all the time. Not that way here. They can't keep a crew in tact for longer than 4 months. The only two that have been there for over 4 months is -----in the office and -------in maintenance. Bottom line, they don't know how to treat their employees so best believe they don't know how to treat their residents.
4. PEST ISSUES WILL NOT GO AWAY- We had a meeting with the exterminator and he told us that some of these buildings are so roach infested that it would take YEARS to get rid of them. People have moved in and moved right back out the next day because of the roaches they see while unpacking their stuff. Also, Ivystone just doesn't have roaches, they also have rats. Not mice, RATS. In maintenance, they tell us to just put rat traps down to catch the rat instead of doing the right thing and calling the exterminator because you know it's a lot cheaper to put down a rat trap than to call the pros out.
5. MOLD ISSUES- The mold issues are terrible here. Phase 3 (which is in the back) has the most mold issues. They have had water leaks back there for years and instead of removing the old drywall, the just let it dry and paint over it. Yea you can't tell, but when you start coughing and hacking, not being able to breath right, it's because the mold and mildew is on the inside of the drywall where you can't see. Mold is a SERIOUS HEALTH RISK.
There is so much wrong with this place it would take me all day to list everything to you all. The bottom line is Ivystone a.k.a Ivydump is not worth the money they want you to pay them to live there. This place needs major renovations before you can take it seriously. Until you see some new siding, new cabinets and countertops, hell even new landscaping, stay away.
I hope this was helpful to those who are looking for a place to live. Thank you for your time.

TRUE----TRUE--TRUE, I'AM OUT OF HERE WITHIN THE NEXT 1-2 MONTHS/DO NOT RENT HERE. I HAVE BEEN HERE FOR 5 YRS AND EVERY YEAR THIS PLACE HAS GONE DOWN, DOWN, DOWN---THERE IS MOLD IN MY UNIT AND NO ONE IN OFFICE SEEMS TO CARE OR THE MANT. CREW. CARPET IS DRY-ROTTED, EVEN CARPET GUY THAT CAME TO CLEAN CARPET AFTER MY APT WAS FLOODED, STATED MY CARPET WAS DRY-ROTTED.
MAINT. SUPERVISOR SAID CARPET WAS FINE. THE OFFICE SENT THE TERMITE MAN OUT TO CHECK FOR TERMITES IN MY APARTMENT AND I TOLD HIM THERE WAS NO TERMITES IN MY APARTMENT , THAT THE MOLD HAS EATEN THEM UP ALREADY.
CEILING IN HALLWAY FELL OUT ONE NIGHT(ABOUT 16 BY 20) BECAUSE OF WATER DAMAGE. RUN. RUN. RUN OR YOU WILL BE SORRY!!!

I, too used to work there...VERY TRUE about all of this. Just go somewhere else. Bonaventure is a terrible company to rent from and work with. It's almost a year later and I'm still waiting on my paycheck. Go figure.
Everything there is "rigged", nothing is fixed properly. Water damage is kiltz instead od replacing the drywall. People wait weeks for "parts to come in" because there isn't enough staff to complete the work. Jobs get started, and it takes weeks to finish. Pest are a huge issue. I met with the pest control guy and found out what it would take to fix it, but bonaventure thought it "cost" to much money. Amazing....Just stay away.

Now I see why you use to work there. you know about problems and do not fix them? maybe the staff that just rides around in golf carts all day are the problem with the not enough staff- or maybe that was you and you got fired! Are you bitter? You forgot that by making the statements that you did that you only make yourself look foolish since it was your job to fix the things you refer too. I like my apartment and I like a few of the maintenance guys who did work in my apartment. I was scared of most since they would come in act dumb and tell me the part was on order. I heard from ------on of the maintenance guys that the last maintenance supervisor got fired and trust me he needed to go;just read the ratings here. -------and ----- are the guys here now and they are getting the work done. So if you live here you know that these postings are not all true. Good luck to those of you moving in finding the perfect apartment for what you are willing to pay! By the way- what apartment has blue walls- the pic of the rat has blue walls and my apartment is a yellow-ish color. Looks to me that the person who put up the pics has a dog that chewed carpet, did a little home improvement on their own, took a picture of a building for what because pine needles fall off trees this time of year, and should have cleaned up behind thier trash can. Take another look at the walls you can see the grease and grime all over the wall around the black spot!
Well I guess people will choose where they live and how they live! I like Ivystone and will continue to call it home. Oh one more thing- my appliances are not old-I just got a new stove but the others were all new when I moved in. Well maybe the lesson here is look at an apartment before you rent it to make sure it is what you want.

Why doesn't someone just file with state and city for health violations- if there is THAT much mold it is a health risk and they could be forced to shut down until the place is treated and remodeled to proper code.

Freaking out- this place is not that bad. Sounds like it is former employees- hence they probably got FIRED. If I had mold in m apartment, as any person with any sense would, I would be in constant contact with the manager until it was corrected. People just want to complain thats all. Go see the apartments I lived there until my house was ready and had no problems.

Nice try --- ---. Once again your up to your old tricks of writing good reviews huh. Or maybe it was -----this time. They have major mold issues. People have sued them over it and won. the reason most people don't do anything about it is because they don't know. All --- does is tell the maintenance guy's to cover it up with paint before they move in or if they already moved in, make sure the resident is not home so they can't see them paint over mold. Oh yea --- maybe the maintenance couldn't fix things because YOU NEVER LET THEM SPEND ANY MONEY TO GET PARTS. The funniest thing i seen one day is two maintenance guys riding in a golf cart in a downpour with no weather cover on the golf cart. One guy is standing on the side of the cart looking like a trash man, and the other is driving standing up because the seats are wet. If they cant even afford a weather cover for a golf cart how can they get parts to fix anything, NICE TRY --- LOL.

I have to admit, most of this stuff is true although they are trying to make some changes recently, cosmetic stuff. I have neighbors who have complained of mold and roaches although I have not experienced the same. I did have a major ac problem that no one seemed to be able to fix, just add freon and go to the next issue. I also had a rat in the vent and the manager said nothing could be done. I am looking for another place but lets face it, I cannot really afford to leave so I continue to stay here even though I really want to leave. If you have another choice, don't choose Ivystone. I do believe the office staff posts positive remarks though. Oh yeah, the lady in the office is ---...and white. -----is nice, although he seems to have ----- tendencies. Just my opinion.

to anonymous date: 4/12/08. The pic of the rat DOES NOT HAVE BLUE WALLS. What the hell are you looking at. Its THE BACK OF THE STOVE YOU MORON. All you see in the pic is the dead rat, the back of the stove, and that old azz Ivystone kitchen floor. The "pine needles falling out the trees this time of year" is B.S. The gutters have been looking like that for years. So what your telling us is that the pine needles fall all year long huh. Not to mention all the pine needle build up on top of the roofs. And what about the "-------and ----- are the guys here now and they are getting the work done". That's B.S. ----- is a DRUG ADDICT. I seen him actually pull out a bag of marijuana in the parking lot. Everytime you see him he is high. This is the "best" Ivystone has, to send a pothead over my apartment to work on my stuff WHILE I'M NOT HOME.
