we moved in because it was the biggest place at the best price. we are military and had just transfered here from overseas. when i asked how much the gas/ water bill normally is, they said water was normally 15, and gas maybe 20. my latest gas/ water bill was $197. it wasn't because i used alot, it was because they get one bill for all of hyde park and divide it up for everyone. the new renovations they are so proud of are half a**ed by the lowest bidder. the neighbor on the rights electric switches were not connected to anything and the one on the left couldnot open the closets because they put to much padding under the new carpets. as for us... we've delt with toilets that leak, cubbord doors that are not secured, an outside door that lets in water every time it rains, new windows that have such a bad seal that we had to put plastic over them, doors that don't shut, and doors that won't stay shut. when we first moved in, a kid was hit by a car speeding through here, seems most cars do. for the amount of cops that live here, the drug dealers have no fear of coming right up to you to ask if you need something, including aproaching your children. i've found needles almost evey where i have gone in here, and do not trust the park as a safe place for my child to play. quiet honestly, it is a very expencive ghetto, where people get shot and killed. fyi: this is a managerial training ground, where they send them to give them a little experiance, so don't expect them to actually care, they will be gone in three months.

It has changed a lot in three years. I know when I first looked at this place my husband was like what Hyde Park is ghetto. We've lived in scary places before this is not one of them. I feel safe walking my dogs, or cleaning out my car in the evenings. I go to the gym and the pool and I have never had any issues.
