The area is beautiful and very safe. I felt comfortable walking around after dark being tucked away from main roads and the crime of Richmond and Petersburg. I lived on the third and top-most floor so I obviously didn't hear noise from other apartments. The washer and dryer in the unit worked well, saved me time from going to a laundromat. The interior of my apartment was nothing short of beautiful. The bathrooms are large and include a huge linen closet that you could only imagine. This apartment is definately a step up from your average cheap hole in the city. I had two walk-in closets in the bedroom! I also had a little storage space attached to my balcony. I paid $750 in 2005 and it was really worth it. There was an issue with installing cable, internet and phone when I lived there, you were only able to purchase from one provider: CavTel. I had to sign a policy that said I would not install a small satellite dish (direct TV), yet I saw others had them. That was a strange matter but hopefully it's been changed since 05. The fitness center was small and rather bare but that's to be expected. The pool was nice, the complex has provided lounge chairs all around the pool area. I moved a lot to find cheaper rent and a place closer to my work but I would definately rent from River's Bend again. I believe it is the closest you can get to luxury for a steal of a deal.
