River's Bend was my first apartment when I moved to Virginia... I miss it terribly.

First moving in: It was very clean and nice. The management treated you with respect and genuinely seemed to care. The apartment community is clean, safe and well-lit. They have a nice man-made pond with water fountains that is very relaxing. I miss just settling in the grass on a nice summer's evening and relaxing. It is close to everything in a nice up-and-coming area in Chester.

The other review was correct about the TV service that you have to contract through... also, when first setting up our phone service, I believe the wiring was wrong. We would never receive any calls, and when we dialed out, another person's number would appear on the recipient's display. I believe this may have been an issue with the telephone company itself and not River's Bend.

Upon leaving: Even though I moved to some apartments that are managed by the same company, I felt as if I was robbed upon leaving the apartment. I feel that the apartment was well cleaned, but River's Bend felt that I owed them approximately $600 for small repairs and "supposed" dirtiness. For example, they charged $15 for a dirty toilet that I know was not dirty. But my issue is that I failed to do the walk thru upon exiting nor took any pictures.

Overall it is a nice apartment community, but please make sure that you do the walk through upon leaving or at least snap some pics!
