Things Must Have Changed

I've read the more recent reviews and all I can say is that they must've gotten new office staff and maintenance people because those glowing reviews are quite the opposite from our experience at Courthouse Green.
Courthouse Green at the time I lived there was nothing more than a pretty, high priced ghetto. Police regularly patrolled the area due to violence, drugs and gang activity. Neighbors were obnoxiously loud, the grounds often littered with trash that the maintenance crew never cleaned up, broken playground equipment and things in general were just falling apart all over.
When it came time to have something in the apartment repaired maintenance was slow to respond and most times they wouldn't fix it right the first time. At one point I had to have an outside agency intervene on our behalf to have repairs made. Then there was the time our A/C went out during a stretch of 100 degree weather and they didn't show up until after 6 p.m. and then we had to wait for an entire week before a new unit was installed. I had to go over the office to the company who owns the property and fight to get that week's worth of rent taken off of my rent.
The office staff was often rude and incompetent. When neighbors and I addressed them with certain concerns we were treated like dirt, made to feel stupid and generally given the answer, "There's nothing we can do about it."
The utility bills there as well are a nightmare. The A/C is hooked up to 2 110 circuits instead of 1 220 one so most times with the thermostat set at 76* - 78* the bill was well over $150. The water bill situation is something that needs to be remedied. One water meter for a building of 8 units and the total is then divided according to how many people are on your lease. That's great in theory but there are times when some tenants have more people in their place than are on their lease. Our neighbors were prime examples of that and often times our bills were over $60 a month.
Overall our experience was a total disaster and we tried several times to see about breaking our lease there because it was such an unsafe environment and nothing would ever get fixed. Apparently they are finally getting off of their butts and trying to turn things around there. Just wish they would've done that when we lived there.

let me tell you what. i am a resident at courthouse green currently and i absolutely hate it there. nothing that you stated in your complaint has changed. the office staff are still extrememly rude. and i have also had to fight with the corporate office to get 6 days worth of rent taken off due to their lack of ability to finish replacing my water heater in the time they said that they would have it done by. there are still policemen constantly patrolling the area as well as neighbors i've had to call the cops on myself due to domestic violence. you are absolutely correct about it being a high priced ghetto and i will not be renewing my lease or renting from this company ever again. |
