ARE YOU WILLING TO PAY $6000 TO BREAK YOUR LEASE' IF NOT READ ON.

we lived there from 06 to 08. started out very nice, had a remodeled kitchen, even though they kept putting us off on our date to move in. the kitchen was cute, but so small that only one person can go in at a time. and whoever put the fridge where it is was a complete idiot...you can't take out the bottom shelves or drawer to clean because the main door wont open all the way!!! it hits the counter across from it.

our screen on our patio was fixed maybe a total of 3 months while we were there. called all the time and didnt get a response. also broken: the BRAND NEW vent/hood over the stove, and BRAND NEW lights in the kitchen...FOR MONTHS. our entire upstairs was without power twice, once for several days, because the wiring was old. you may not know it, but a few years ago a whole strip of townhouses burned down, i dont know why but if that is any indication of the shape they are in, they need to redo some wiring before it happens again.

the vents inside were filled with trash and i guess crayons from the previous tenants children. there is a picture on here showing that. whoever put in the vinyl in the bathrooms did a very poor job. the shower stopped working about two months before we left and despite calls, was never fixed.

kids loiter everywhere, i dont care if its raining. someone was stabbed here earlier in 08, and shot in 07. there is a myspace page that show some of the kids with guns and things, and in front of the apartment sign!!

PART OF OUR RENT WAS PUT TOWARDS SOMEONE ELSES...unacceptable. they also changed the due date on the rent from paying by the 5th before a late fee to the 2nd. nice. i got paid on the 5th so i was always charged a late fee. i doubt it was a coincidence.

our car was hit TWICE in the parking lot by our neighbors guests. he constantly had drunk, high guests at his house until 4 in the morning. glass bottles and trash was outside every weekend. i had to park and walk from two buildings away a few times just to get home, because he had so much company. out of the 8 or so apartments on our building, several times there were no spaces at 7 in the evening for those of us who actually lived there. and the grass in front and behind the apartments' FULL of dog crap. the girls had to play on the concrete in front just to keep from stepping in it.

to top all of this off, i lost my job in Nov 07, and we kept falling behind in the rent. so finally we had to leave. WE GOT A BILL FOR $9100.00....i am not lying. we knew we owed about $2600, the rest was considered a "termination fee". the apartment was not damaged beyond regular wear and tear of having two kids and living there a year and a half. we took pictures before we left. after contacting the people who sent the bill, they said they would show we disputed it, and get them to send the contract over.

NOBODY IS GOING TO MOVE INTO AN APARTMENT THAT CHARGES A $6000 MAINTENANCE FEE IF YOU BREAK YOUR LEASE... and technically we didnt. our lease ended 12/07 and we never resigned anything. we were month to month. how can you charge someone that much money to leave if you dont get a notice' what about emergencies' it was not in the contract that they would charge you as much as a car to leave the apartment.

I AM STILL DEALING WITH THE COMPANY THAT HAS OUR PAPERWORK, AND IF IT DOES TURN OUT WE HAVE TO PAY THAT BILL EVERYONE IN CHESTERFIELD IS GOING TO KNOW IT...my parents live right across the street and i will have banners and signs and 12 on your side out there. i am not kidding...i have paperwork and things to back up everything i put in here. if things had been nice, i would have said so.

and if its any consolation, the staff is ok. thats about all though.

overall i wouldnt suggest anyone move here. there are nice apartments nearby and always houses for rent in the same neighborhood behind C. Green. save your money. the price of rent wasnt too bad but if you dont mind sucky apartments and thugs and cheaters and loud music, you can move to the southside of richmond and get a bigger apartment for half the price.

I am experiencing same issue. I moved out on 09/12/07, my lease was over on 09/27/07. My rent was paid until end of Sept. I did not renew my lease. It is Dec. 08 and they have now decided to open a collections case on me for breech of contract? What breech?

we were month to month so i know what you mean...i would wait until they send it to the company that handles the collection, they are in FL and they helped us a great deal. it didnt hit our credit report for months and by then we had figured out what CHG did... you can email me if you like, midnightmuse@msn.com and i can see if i can find the info to give to you that we used...

My friend and I applied there and paid 50.00 each for application fee. They assured us we would get in, "no problem they said" since we have never rented before. Suddenly, we were declined for no reason, they pocketed our 100 dollars and one office person whispered to us to get someone else to pretend they are renting it for us and then move in it.

You should get a letter on the reasons why you were denied and maybe then you could understand the reasons for the declined application. I am sure that you could also get a statement from the rental office that your application fee was not pocketed. I am sure it was either check or money order that was submitted for the fee. Think about it and follow-up before you start making negative remarks!
