I just signed a lease with Crystal House. I see the reviews are not great but I am going to stick with the building. I am wondering if there is a better building to be in and/or better side of the building... one with less noise/problems. The unit I have now is an updated unit in Building 1, facing the metro. It is by an elevator and I am scared it is going to be loud! Would love some help on the building as I can still change unit. Also, do the updated apartments seem to have less problems' Thnx!!

If you are facing Eads you are in the best side. They (firefighters) normally turn left on FERN. I live in CH-2 and also hear the sirens. The issue may bet a bit better when the new windows are installed.

I lived in Crystal House I from 2002 to 2004, and in Crystal House II from 2004 to 2005. CH I is better to live in than CH II, and renovated apts are better than non-renovated ones. Most of the problems I had with pests and occurred in CH II, which was also an unrenovated unit. The renovated unit I had in CH I gave me very few pests in my two years there. Also, the crowd in CH I just seemed to be friendlier than CH II. In CH II, there were more families and older people who kept to themselves. CH I had lots of singles who were looking to chat from time to time. |
