Buchanan staff makes living experience tough

The staff at the Buchanan is, by far, the worst staff of any apartment building in which I have lived. The building staff is bombarded with complaints and seems to have chosen to deal with the situation by treating residents with disrespect. The resident "concierge" often deals with residents as if they are an unnecessary nuisance. However, the management office is far worse. I have not spoken with a single resident who has found them helpful in any way, but have spoken to several who find them rude and purposefully combative. Other residents are correct regarding the noise in the building. The student population is not, like a previous poster stated, relegated to a single floor consisting of art students. My guess is that the building population is half college students (not a problem in itself), many of which live on every floor. Many residents are very loud well after midnight on weekday nights. This includes some residents regularly throwing garbage and glass bottles off their balconies and out windows. Because of this, I would not recommend this building to anyone with normal sleeping hours or young children. The lobby, gym and billiard area are well-kept. Parking would be ample if not for the construction, which obstructs many of the driving lanes in the garage to the point where two way traffic is dangerous around many corners. We will be leaving the building soon due to the above complaints. It is a shame because the building is in a nice area, with only a ten minute walk to the Metro.
