The place of our dreams, until...

My friend and I lived at Southridge from 2008-2009. We were there for almost a year when we decided to move out and find another place to live. Had it not been for management's inadequate ability to deal with issues, perhaps we would've stayed. Or if weren't from the neighbors from hell.
At first, we were very happy to live in this community. Everyone seemed very welcoming from the neighbors to the maintenance men and office staff. We felt very at home in these apartments and the neighbors that lived around us were all very considerate and polite.
After we had been living there for several months, a small family moved into the apartment above us. At first they seemed like nice people until they started making up lies about how much noise we made, that we had loud parties all hours of the night, that we argued, etc. We were amused by these false accusations because between my roommate and myself, we worked 4 jobs to be able to live there on our own. We usually went to bed most nights before 10pm! We may be young, but we are not kids that like to party all the time. We also found it funny because these same people that constantly accused us of stuff, made entirely too much noise.
They stomped around upstairs constantly, slammed doors, their kid was constantly crying and the dog barked all hours of the day. They would drop heavy items on the floor which would shake the ceilings and walls and they had something that they would roll across the floor constantly. Most days, I thought one of them was going to come through the ceiling!
Management was alerted more than once on the problems we had with neighbors and management said they would let the upstairs neighbors know of the complaints but once they did speak to them, we were simply told "They feel that you are retaliating against them because they complained on you first." HELLO'!'! Who has lived here longer' Who has never had a complaint on them until these creeps moved in'
After a while, I could no longer take it. Most nights, I was ready to kill the people upstairs. I have lived in an apartment before and people DO NOT make this much noise. It's not humanly possible. We always thought because the woman was overweight, that was were all the noise was coming from but the man was just as bad.
We finally gave our notice and got the hell out of there. Before I left, I took delight in making a horrendous amount of noise when I was moving my things out late at night to get revenge on these creeps.
Had these two-faced neighbors from hell not moved in above us, perhaps we would still be living peacefully at Southridge. I feel that management should've moved these heavy footed, noise making individuals to a DOWNSTAIRS apartment so they would not disrupt others. I just hope that whomever is living where we used to live in the present time, is driving these people insane.
At first parking was not an issue, but during the summer, a lot of times when I would come home from working at night, most parking spots near my building were taken by visitors. I believe there should be rows near the office clearly designated for visitor parking so tenants don't have such a long walk to their building.
While we were living there, safety was never an issue until some low life in our building had a drug raid, complete with cops, state policeman, dogs and guns. This happened later in the evening during the middle of the week, which alarmed a lot of people. A lot of us felt that management should've let us know after the incident, what had happened and should've apologized for it, instead of everyone gossiping about it. I had to give the safety column a low rating because of it.
Also, some stuff seemed to fall apart after we first moved in, just seemed cheap made in some areas, like closet doors, cabinets, etc. Maintenance men were always quick to respond to any issues though.
Put it this way...don't move into a downstairs apartment if you have people living above you that aren't middle aged or older. I was offered to call Southridge after I left if I ever wanted to come back but I never would live there again. Those neighbors ruined it for me and it's a shame, because it is a nice community.

Sounds about right. Sent an email to management about a visitor(I gave my apt number, our names and the guests license plate number as well as the make, color and model of the car) parking every night for the last two months in our area. Rather than investigate, the response was "Which apartment is this?" Uh, I gave you my apartment number and name. Where do you think it is? Our ONLY AREA TO PARK! Dont investigate it, just send us nasty letters to not do laundry past 8pm. Nice!
