Not the best place I've lived, but not the worst.

I was a little surprised reading the other reviews; my husband and I haven't had problems with noise or crime (knock on wood), and the office staff has always been nice to us. The apartment is pretty well-organized, although I do wish it had more closet space. I found the price to rent a garage ($200/month) very steep, although that could be because I moved to VA from Florida, where we rented a garage for $65/month.
The people who complained about the gates are correct -- they almost never work. But even when they are working, it's not like the place is any more secure than when they're not; it's laughably easy to slip in behind someone who has a gate card -- happens to me all the time. This, by the way, is no surprise; it's been true of every gated community I've ever visited, except for those that have guards at the gate.
