Ok, bugs stink BUT they wouldn't be a problem if people were cleaner. I'm just saying! What do Sliverfish eat', "...The favorite food of silverfish is any matter that contains starch or polysaccharides, such as dextrin in adhesives. These include glue, book bindings, paper, photos, sugar, hair, and dandruff." Therefore, if you do your laundry, clean up the kitchen and keep books/magazine on desks and bookshelves then maybe they wouldn't be crawling everywhere! Same goes for the ants. Maybe I've just been lucky but this is my 2nd apartment at the Remington and I haven't had any bug problems.
As for the facilities, yeah...they're small BUT if you try to go to the gym at noon on a Saturday, you're just ASKING to not have a spot to work out. Everything is first come, first serve so I don't see how it's anyone's fault if the clubhouse is always packed...it means its nice, functioning and all the residents want to use it!
I go to the free pilates class on Wednesdays and Saturdays; something that would cost me anywhere from $20-30 per class, and I know that I need to get there a few minutes early to make sure I get a mat.
I seriously don't know what some people expect. Maybe it's because I used to live in a college town, with college rental companies who REALLY didn't care about you, your apartment or the grounds but it seems like everyone wants maid service and 1,000 sq. ft apts. for under 1k. Keep dreaming!
If you're looking for a clean, safe and cute apt, Remington is for you. If you want a huge apt. for pennies, I seriously suggest Ashburn/Winchester/the mountains bc you're not going to find it in the DC metro area!
