Too much security' Who can have too much security' (Oh, I know, those who have something to hide!)
One negative aspect of Princeton Woods is the abundance of insects - but then again, what do you expect' It IS called Princeton WOODS and you are surrounded by TREES AND BUSHES!! The ants, spiders and ladybugs drive me insane but it is better than roaches and rats, right' I keep getting nasty bug bites and am pretty scarred up because of them and that is the only reason I would really move. (That and the need to have metro/bus access for work and school when the car is acting up!) Another negative is that it gets really cold in the winter and hot in the summer. The windows have little insulation and the vents blow out minimal air. The 2-bedroom apartments are kind of small -in fact, all of their apartments are pretty small. I think they could have made better use for the space they put in the hallways. The 3-bedroom apartments have a huge wide hallway (great for your kids to race in!) but a small living room and dining room. The apartments are EXTREMELY attractive, inside and out and I was never embarrassed to entertain there - the only things I was embarrassed about were the ants and the small size of the living/dining area.
The positive: It is a bright, clean, affordable, friendly, non-violent and quiet (when you dont have elephants living above you and/or young adults and teenagers living in the building. Never heard a voice through the wall - the side walls are thick!) community. There is plenty of parking and you do not have to worry about your guests getting their cars towed!! The building entrances are nice and airy so there are no smells coming from other apartments! The maintenance staff is AWESOME (extreeemely responsive!). The appliances, amenities - FREE CABLE WITH 5 HBO CHANNELS AND 3 SHOWTIME CHANNELS - AND FREE INTERNET! - all awesome to have! It is a VERY comfortable place to live (almost too comfortable! I never wanted to leave my apartment!), period! The only downside is that you cannot exceed a certain annual income in order to move here. I make way more now than I did when I first moved here and so do a lot of my friends so I hate that I cannot recommend the place more often. I really do love it here. Scars and all:). I wish they had more of these attractive and affordable communities (with HIGHER maximum income guidelines!) in Fairfax County and other counties closer to Metro.
The staff is FAR from racist (I am Puerto-Rican) and I know for a fact that the manager has two bi-racial children - my son goes to school with them - so how can she be racist' I would recommend the place in a flash.
