I moved in to Wyndham because the apartment and neighborhood seemed nice and quiet from outside.
Don't Be Fooled! This place is NOT safe!!!!
The staff don't care about their residents.
While my brother and I lived there for one year, we had two break-ins to my apartment. One day I was home alone and someone broke in to my apartment. I was in my room when it happened. I got scared, hid in my closet, and called the police. By the time police came, the burglar had left with some of my brother's belongings. Police prepared a report and asked the management office to change the lock.
Guess what'
The leasing counselor told us that she changed the lock and gave us a set of new keys.
Only later, we found out that the new keys she gave us were same as the old keys.
When second break in happened in November of 2006, luckily, no one was home.
The burglar totally trashed my apartment. Paper documents everywhere, all the cabinets were open, and took all the valuable items. Again we had a police report. We told the leasing counselor the day after because the incident took place at night. She didn't change the lock until the late evening of that day.
This is just a beginning.
On October 2, I had given verbal notice to leasing counselor that I was moving out by the end of November when my One year contract was over. She said she will keep it in her record so I asked her if I needed to submit any documents, she said ??No, that??s fine??.
By the time I was getting ready to leave the apartment in late November, I moved all my belongings and went to the office to return the keys and get my deposit back.
It turned out to be a total disaster.
A manager (whom I never met before) told us that we owe two months of rent because we didn't give 60 days notice. WHAT' When I confronted the leasing counselor about not informing us about the 60 days notice, she totally ignored us and denied our conversation that took place on October 2. In fact, she threatened us that she will sue us if we didn't pay the 2 months rent plus her attorney fee. She was disrespectful and treated us with an attitude. After long argument, we ended up agreeing to pay two months rent.
On December 6, my brother personally dropped off a check for the December rent. And guess what' This morning, I get a call from the leasing counselor that we haven??t paid the rent for December and began to threaten to sue us. And just now, I get a call again that she just found our check and didn??t even apologize.
The staff are slow, non responsive, unprofessional, and disrespectful to their residents. The headache and trouble my brother and I went through are beyond description.
I would NOT recommend anyone to live here.
Did I say that clearly' Again, I would NOT recommend anyone to live here.

I am sorry that you had these issues, however I don't remember hearing anything about a break-in at the apt. complex when we lived there. Like a previous commentor, we know one of the police officers who lives(d) out there and never heard anything. We came to Wyndham Pointe in Oct. 05' and stayed for a year. We would have stayed longer, but we decided to buy. Just to extend a little word of advice the next time you are moving out an apartment...ALWAYS put your stuff in writing and get the front office to sign/date acknowledging the move out AND get a copy of the signed letter. NEVER listen to them when they say you don't have to provide your move-out in writing. You should have also read your lease, because it states in the lease.

I agree with LoveVA79, gotta read that lease. That is a given. Don't know who you deal with there but I find the staff to be top notch and willing to work with people. |

Verbal notice and only 30 days notice??!! Read your lease next time. WP requires 60 day written notice. Always put your notice IN WRITING. ALWAYS. READ YOUR LEASE. READ YOUR LEASE. READ YOUR LEASE.

Whoever wrote this obviously is or was not a very good tenant. The first year I lived there, everything was great except for a little nuisance or two because of being a new construction. Despite that, I loved the place so much I renewed my lease a second time. Not only did they provide me with a renewal gift (I selected the bedroom ceiling fan), I asked if there was a possibility of moving the living room light ceiling fan light fixture to the bedroom, and they threw in a whole new fixture. It didn't take days, maintenance was there within the hour to do it. The only reason I left is because I took a job back in Ohio - again, I had to break my lease early, and yes I had to pay a bit extra because of breaking the lease early. What impressed me was that a few months later, when I got my deposit, I also got a second check that refunded the additional rent that I paid to break the lease.
Wyndham is a great place to live. If you have a problem with the staff, then obviously you've done something wrong. I wish I could have brought the entire staff and complex with me to Ohio - I'd have been much happier about making living arrangements!
