Years at this apartment: 2002 - 2003
The Archstone was a good "right out of college" apartment complex for me. I find it to be spacious, very quiet, friendly, pet-loving, and close to many shopping centers. Yes, parking is a HUGE problem here... the Archstone has more apartments than parking spaces and many residents have 2 cars. The kitchen and bathrooms have not been renovated in 15 years and it shows. Those 2 areas of the apartment definitely look old and worn. My neighbors are extremely friendly and quiet, and my dog has been able to make lots of play-mates. The lighting can be pretty poor espcially by the wooded areas- I think thats why there is so much dog mess-- People are scared to walk at night to the woods to the dog bag drop off. The stairwells are not kept very well; spider webs are everywhere. The maintenance staff is very friendly althoough I think one of them rode his golf cart up on the grass and caused some damage. None of the "amigos" mentioned in other reveiws has ever disrespected me in any way i.e. catcalling etc. The management is friendly but often do not act on their promises. I am going to renew my lease this year and then look for something more newly renovated in the area next year. Cedar Lakes looks Amazing!
One note- The Archstone is one of few apartments that will accept Pit Bulls and Rottweilers-
