We've lived in this complex since 2002. Initially we liked everything about our apartment and the staff. Then minor infractions began to get on our nerves. Misplaced packages, repeated service requests - all annoyances, but things we could live with and manage through.
Then the complex was sold. In the last 6 months there have been 3 different property managers. Not one of them calls back or follows up. Our lease ends in Octiber, however we havenot received a renewal notice. We've asked every week for the last month. The new manager consistently promises and doesn't deliver. We'll be contacting Riverstone Company directly since the property manager is so incompetent.
Additionally, renovations are occuring throughout the buildings. While this isn't a problem by itself, the communication has been poor and the inconveniences have been major. We received a notice that renovations to our balcony would take less than a month. That was 3 months ago. In the meantime, we've been asked to remove everything from our balconies. Therefore our bikes and patio furniture are crowding our living room! And we have been literally barred from going on to our balocony. We received less than 24 hours notice that our balcony door would be barred to prevent us from going outside. We were told this would also be temporary, that was 3 weeks ago.
Oh, did I mention that our 2nd bathroom light swutch doesn't work, the dials on our stove are broken and two kitchen drawers won't open correctly''
We will be leaving ASAP!

Very true about the property manager's. They never call back and every time I would ask for them they told me they no longer work her.
I forgot to write about the balcony in my review! I eventually had to remove the piece of wood that was nailed to my door myself. I never removed my furniture because I new from experience elswhere that people never stick to schedules. I didn't want to have to pay for a balcony that I could not use. I thought many times to ask about a discount on the rent because they had taken that large part of the apartment away but I figured that it would not be worth the hastle.
