I've lived at Arbors for about a year now. I'm not renewing my lease only because I got a new job closer to the city, and I prefer to have a shorter commute. I'm writing this because I wanted to provide a "real" assesment of this place, because all I ever see on this site are people who like to complain about everything!! You guys are the biggest babies! Here we go...
The Good:
-Quiet complex. No kids running around. You may hear a siren or two if you live close to the main street as I do.
-Beautiful landscaping
-Pet friendly
-Responsive management. Thats just going from my experience, but then again, I dont call everyday crying about spiders, and tigers and bears (oh my!)
-Safe. I've walked my dog at 3 in the morning on several occasions and have never thought twice about my safety. (I wouldnt recommend walking through the "not so well lit" nature trail at 3 in the morning, but what can I say. I like to live on the edge!)
-Spacious Apartments! I love my apartment and I wish I could take it with me! Also, if you catch Arbors at the right time, they usually have incredible move-in specials.
-Been here a year...never saw a mouse or a roach! Not once!
The Bad:
-The complex is sometimes used as a shortcut by people I know dont live here. And while they usually greet me with a friendly smile, I wouldnt go leaving my expensive bike just lying around either.
-Dog poo. Some people need to learn how to clean up after thier dogs. I know it's biodegradable but geez!
-Parking is less than stellar. If you are like me and have a freakin life...you might want to invest in a reserved parking spot. Coming in after 9pm any night of the week pretty much guarantees you a nice tour of the complex while hunting for a spot. Once time I even had to park by the leasing office, and I live towards the back!
The Ugly!
-The windows in this place leak like a submarine with a screen door (and I have a remodeled unit). If you like to walk around your apartment in a t-shirt and shorts during the winter, then prepare for some high heating bills. Everything runs off of electric so your bill will definantly reflect. The highest bill i saw was 170! the next month, i turned it down to 75, and put on some pants. It dropped down to 80 bucks. Summertime with the AC on is about the same.
Well, that's the good, bad, and ugly! Judge for yourself before listening to everyone else gripe and complain. Even though i'm leaving, I highly recommend Arbors @ Fairlakes.

No sure what the actually name of the unit was called, but it was a renovated, 1bdrm w/ den, first floor unit.
