An Uphill Battle in a Downward Sprial

Years at this apartment: 1999 - 2004
I've lived here since this property was a Charles E. Smtih property and have seen peaks and valleys in overall service and livibility since it was taken over by Archstone.
In five years I've have seven major leaks in my apartment all requiring drywall repair which is messy and time consuming. I've had two major foundation problems which have also required drywall fixing (to the point where contractors were called in). I have many positive things (timely, friendly, etc) to say about the maintainence people here...which is good becuase I've seen them a lot with all the leaks and cracks in the apartment!!!
The stackable washers/dryers are definitly showing their age as it usually takes at least two dry cycles to get even the smallest of loads dry.
The walls are quite thin. I purchased earplugs for the night time since I often laid awake hearing witness to my upstairs neighbors "nocturnal extracuricular activities".
Parking is just a nightmare here. What little visitor parking they have is often being used by residents becuase there simply isn't enough parking for the amount of cars here. They have gotten more strict and have been enforcing the permit parking only...but the company they have hired is less then disirable and how they treat the people's who cars are towed (beyond rude) and the cars themselves (very poorly) makes me wonder why Archstone would want to be associated with them. Plus, the lightening isn't the greatest.
The leasing office has up and down service. Either they are terrific and bend over backwards to help or they are totally non-reponsive to concerns. And I will go as far as agreeing with another poster who said the more you complain (or continue to point out an issue) the less responsive they are.
Archstone has a Seal of Service and I hold them to it. I will be moving from here soon becuase I am tired of all the problems but until June comes I will continue to demand that Archtone lives up to their advertising. A nice big apartment isn't worth continued maintainence and parking problems.
