My roommate and I moved in July 2008 and we've had issues from day one. When we moved in (in JULY) the AC was broken, the bathroom fan didn't work, one of the closet doors wasn't hanging and one of the light fixtures was hanging from the ceiling among other problems. We've had constant problems with the heater and the refrigerator and we need to dry our clothes 3-4 times before they actually get dry. All of the appliances are very old.
In February we got a notice saying we hadn't been paying the correct amount of rent because we hadn't been paying some extra utility charges, which were never told we would have to pay when we moved in. Instead of informing of us of this right away they waited MONTHS until we had a $300 balance due. I never did get an explanation as to why we weren't informed sooner.
Then my car was towed from in front of my building b/c I didn't have the updated parking sticker which they decided to change for some reason. They insisted a flyer was put in my door but since the door opens to an outside walkway it's very likely the flyer blew away b/c we never received it. I had to pay $150 to get my car back b/c they didn't feel the need to contact me or even put a warning notice on my car noting the old sticker prior to towing.
Also, the walls are very thin, one of my neighbors has a dog that barks/moans all day and night.
The whole management office seems incredibly unorganized and unhelpful and likes to add on charges that aren't initially mentioned when moving in. Thankfully I'm moving out this summer and I can't wait. I'm already sure they will try to nickle and dime us on giving the deposit back.
