I stayed in this community for 2 years, & it was OK, while I was there.

No sooner than I decided to move out (closer to work), I started getting a distinct feeling that they would take me to cleaners, no matter what. Sure enough, I got a $1100 bill for move out!! It includes cleaning charges, painting & $850 for carpet replacement!!

I was told that there would be a pre move out inspection, 2 weeks prior to move out & I would be given a WRITTEN estimate of charges. I was never given anything & now I have this huge bill!!!

I can understand cleaning (which again is questionable, how can anyone leave the apartment in exactly the same condition, after staying there 1 year!!!). However, painting'' what do they expect' After 365 days in the place, they are going to find it spotless'' what is "normal wear & tear" supposed to mean''

Finally, carpet..they replaced the whole thing (at my expense!!) when it could have easily been steam cleaned...My biggest gripe is, why was I not given an estimates of these charges' If I had been, I could have easily cleaned them up...

and now I am struggling to talk to their CS & they are RUDE!! Not even willing to listen! I just spoke to another friend of mine who also moved last month, & he also has the similar charges sent to him!! Seems it is a racket they have going..so beware, they may entice you with good deals initially, but then they would take away all of that & more, when u move out (unless you walk on thin air, don't touch anything in the place which would make them dirty)...

Stay away, is my sincere advice.

Autumn Woods is the McDonald's of apartments. They are relatively cheap for a reason. The rude behavior and callous attitude starts right at the top of their corporate chain. If you think the apartment staff is rude, try dealing with their corporate office.

Completely true. I had to pay for carpet replacement and Customer Service was exremely rude to me telling me to take it as a learning experience. This was after I found pictures linked to my account of someone elses FILTHY apartment and saying I shouldn't have paid to replace carpet, I left my apartment of 2 years very well kept... especially compared to whoevers apartment that was. I think they were trying to stick me with those pictures to justify their charges and it was obvious they weren't of my apartment... the view out of the window was even completely different.
