I agree that the trash overflowing is a significant issue. However, I do see people dumping trash when outside the dumpster constantly. At least check to see if there is room inside and if not take it back to your apartment till the next day or so. Also, alot of people do leave sofas, bed sets, etc. outside the dumpster. By the way, the DUMP is just down the street on West Ox Road. People can leave that large stuff at the DUMP and not here.
I occassionally dog sit for my brother and always cleanup behind her. It is so easy, there is a place down the parking lot from my building and they even supply bags and a trash receptacle.
I have never had much experience with the office staff since I have never had any major problems with my apartment or fixtures.
Oh and yes, this is apartment living. If you have a problem with your neighbor's noise you can talk to your neighbor, report them to the apartment complex or police, or you can just move out. But hey, it's apartment living what can I say. Most of the problems in apartments seem to be conflicts of noise between neighbors.
They tried to jack my rent up as well by $120. I did after all get the unit for $200 below market the previous year so I understand that. However, I asked if they could go halfway for me and they did without any problem. So my rent went up a manageable $60/month. This I felt is reasonable based on my other experiences around the region with other apartments. So I was happy with only the $60 increase.
Yes, they are pricey apartments. But if you want to live in a slum or bad area you can pay less of course. I am paying for the location and surrounding community more than the ammenities anyway.
We will see how things go when I move out. I am trying to get a house with my wife, brother and his girlfriend. Maybe I will get hit with some charges, we'll see.
