First, I am really a resident of Camden Fairlakes. My name is Drake and I live in building 4203, so no need to suspect this was written by the staff itself.

There seems to be a concerted effort by the competition of Camden to bring these ratings down, and steer potential residents elsewhere.

1. Pay attention: There are no rats! Anywhere on premises.
2. The staff at Camden Fairlakes is very helpful. You don't have to spend much time in the front office to see just how many happy residents live here. Specifically, Rosita goes WAY out of her way to make sure everything is completely to your satisfaction. Abdul is also amazing. The staff here is seriously the best I have had to deal with. Anyone saying otherwise is lying. Go to the office yourself and just sit down and chat with Rosita. You won't be sorry.
3. The trash situation isn't as bad as people portray at all. You simply put your trash at your doorstep at 8:00, and it is usually gone by at least 8:30. They provide a can for you, and they will pick up pretty much anything you put out there. Take a walk around. There is no cleanliness problem created by this system. I rather like it.

As for my story. As we were moving to VA. we were given a move in date. Our movers arrived 2 days early. The previous tenant had demolished the carpet. I talked to Abdul about changing the move in date. He was amenable, but the carpet had to be replaced. After a bit of chatting, he called his contractors and had them come at 7am the next morning. The job was completed by 9:30 and the movers arrived at 10. That was amazing. They really bent over backward to make us happy and they really didn't have to at all.

I searched long and hard to find a place that we would like, and I am very pleased with Camden. I know this sounds like a commercial, but I feel strongly that the reviews on here are overly harsh for reasons I cannot begin to understand.

Seriously! Pay attention! Walk around the parking lots or even the outside hallways at night: you WILL see rats. The sole garbage compactor, the fact many residents don't use the "Valet Waste" cans and just put bags out (and do so over the weekend--trash isn't picked up Friday or Saturday night) draws the rats like crazy. Someone who lived near us had rats that burrowed INTO their apartment and nested in a closet.
