Don't Move Here!

THIS PLACE SUCKS!! This place is absolutely horrible. It is surrounded by smelly people who hardly ever take showers (it's extremely bad being squished next to them in the elevators). There are 12 floors in each tower and 3 towers overall. Each tower only has 2 elevators that take forever-especially on the weekends when new people are moving in their furniture. I've only been here for a year and have already decided to move the hell out. Last winter we noticed ants in the kitchen. Two other tenants also told me that they were experiencing bed bugs in the rooms. One tenant told us that her husband got bite marks all over his body from them. The fire alarm goes off all the time to the point to where now the majority of the tenants don't even bother to come outside. Sometimes, the fire trucks don't even bother to come either!-I noticed that on 2 different occasions!! That's so dangerous!
The management here, are a bunch of money-hungry weasels. This one younger girl who works there with dirty blonde hair lied to me when I asked her if you could hear your neighbors. I asked her this when I was signing my lease to move in. The walls are so thin you can hear your neighbor's telephone ring. You also hear people yelling. You can also hear when they are taking a shower...it's that bad! There are always people running in the hallways too. Everyone slams their doors.
When you move in, you only get one parking pass for the garage, and one for the outside parking. BTW, if you have a pass for the outside parking, then you can't park in the garage. If you do, you will get towed at about 11:30pm. I got towed twice! It costs $120 to get back your car from the towing lot. One time I parked for 1 hour outside and got towed because apparently, I was parked in a fire zone' You couldn't even see the "yellow lines" that were apparently supposed to have been there to represent a Fire Zone. It was so faded and dirty that I didn't even know. And the other time I got towed was when I parked in an area that was a handicap spot' No one could barely even tell that the handicap symbol was there. Shortly after I got my car back, management decided to paint in some new handicap spaces.
The rent is way to expensive for what you get. You also have to pay for the swimming pool:$40 plus you have to pay extra for a guest. Maintenance is somewhat timely--only sometimes though. We had to get our AC box replaced, and it took them 3weeks to respond to our request. The guy who fixed it also put it on crooked, so he had to come back a second time. The fixtures are sooooo dated as well. The counter tops are of the cheapest and they easily stain. The cabinets look like they are from the 70s along with the old stove and refrigerator. The bathroom is so small and dated as well.
The only reason I moved here was because they offered me 2 months free rent and I had to quickly find a place. No one is really happy here.
Their fees are also ridiculous!! There's a $500 pet deposit!(non-refundable) They also charge an extra $50 pet rent which is added to your monthly rent. They also charge a $12 trash fee that is also added to your monthly rent. If you lose any card they give you, you have to buy a new one...and they are like $100 each.
The hallways always reek of b.o. and curry 24/7.
The fitness center is extremely small and the sometimes the machines are broken. The tennis court doesn't even have a properly secured net as well.
You also have to do your laundry in the lobby laundry room! Each load is $1.25. The laundry card only accepts $5 $10 $20s. And sometimes, the laundry card machine doesn't even work.
You're also issued one access card that lets you into the building because all of the entry doors are locked. Every additional card is $100. So I've seen so many stand outside and wait for someone to just let them in, which pretty makes those "security" card pointless. BTW a lot of people here are dirty and do not clean up after themselves.
The only good thing about this place is the location. (It's 1min from Metro by car)
It's also 5-10 min away from 495.

But it is truly not worth it.

i do concur. everything you have said is true. especially getting a car towed in the handicap spot. my ex- had his towed, questioned why a free spot was open so late at night (so close to the garage entry door to the building) so he parked there, simply to have his car towed. Management does the best they can to skip out on the most they can! don't move in. or if you are contemplating it, come visit an apartment (other than the one they show you in their site tour) -- you can see mine. the one they show you is miraculously a million time brand new in comparison. They keep a model apt waiting to show you -- if that doesn't say something then I don't know what does. time and time again, you read do not move in! ----->big mistake when you do.
