I've lived at East Meadow for almost 16 months. I have not had any problems with the building. I'm a single woman and I have not had any safety concerns. The building is old and is need of some remodeling. However, the apartments are huge! Great walk-in closets and full-size kitchen.
My only beef is with the noise. People will stand outside and talk on there cell phones at all hours of the night. You can hear everything. Also, you can hear your neighbors music and smell their food cooking :-(
Overall it's a decent place to start out if you're new to the area. It is by no means a luxury apartment so I'm wondering why they keep raising the rent so much.
