I cannot tell you how many times we attempted to contact management to fix a problem and whether they did not come on time or did not fix the problem in adequate fashion it was always something.

More than anything it was the arrogance of the property manager that bothered me. She seemed to feel that the tenants were inadequate for whatever reason and literally drove us out of the apartment because of her attitude.

It is my opinion that she will be fired eventually, but until this happens do not even consider this complex.

You are so right, I live there too. However if you have a copy of your original lease then read it. There has to be a way to get your deposit back if the same company own's the property. Now if they sold it then that may be a differnt story. I wish you the best of luck. And actually even if they sold it you still may be able to get your money back because you have a lease saying if you do not have damages then you get the 1000 back. If you have to ask to speak to her boss and if that doest work go to Gables Management website and call someone of higher power. You may even have to bluff and say you have a lawyer in the family but you dont want to bring it to that. Sorry but I would definately not settle at her word $700-1000 whatever you paid id a lot of money. Good Luck

It makes no sense for them to say that you can't get your money back since the property is now under different management. It's like you saying you don't have to honor your lease since a new company has taken over. If they don't have to honor the terms of the contract then neither do you. I would point this out to them. A lease is a legal document and can be enforced in a court of law. They certainly would have used it against you if you had broken the terms of the lease. You might want to consider that avenue.

They did the same thing to me. I left a cash deposit and was told I wasn't getting it back because they have a "different" manager since I signed my lease and that she thought the rug was unacceptable. It was unacceptable when I moved in. She never saw it when I rented it. It had so much deodorant sprayed on it you could barely breathe in the apartment! So they bought themselves a new rug with my deposit!
