I'm a single woman who has lived at Fairfax Circle Villa Apartments for about 4 years. I love it. It's the best community I've lived in in the DC Metro area (have lived in three others). The staff are friendly and courteous. When there are problems (like heat or gas) someone promptly responds. Snow and ice are cleared quickly, and the grounds are clean and well-maintained. I've never had a problem with bugs. There are a lot of families with children, and the play areas are shielded from the main street. I feel safe walking around at any hour of the day or night. All of the neighbors I've run into have been very polite. The complex is close to convenience stores, a video store, Asian and Latin markets, several restaurants, and the Metro. The rent is a steal for this area! Sure, you can hear your neighbors if they have loud conversations or crank up the TV, but that's apartment life; the key is everyone being considerate in the wee hours of the night, which 99.9% of the time folks are. The electric bill can be controlled by hanging curtains with a thermal backing and using compact florescent light bulbs. My sliding glass door faces southeast and gets full sun, and in the summer with the AC going full-blast, my electric bill is never more than $50. You have obviously NEVER lived here. First, EVERY apartment is, in-fact, roach infested. Second, the crime rate is through-the-roof!! Third, even the maintenance staff has admitted the central air units are extremely outdated and therefore insufficent, causing abnormally high electric bills. Can you say "staff written"??? Go to the next review if you want an honest opinion.
