The buildings are old, that cannot be changed. I don't have a problem with that, everything works. They recently (summer 2008) put new vinyl windows on most unit, they did my unit in the spring. The bad, they didn't let me know until the day before the contractors were coming to install the windows. Nothing went missing (though if something did, the office will tell you you should have had renter's insurance) but a little advance notice would have been better.
The price for the square feet you get are great, the maintanance guys always fix things the next day I call them. We've never had roaches, the pool is pretty big. However, after the old property manager retired (Barbara) the new girls they've hired had let the place go a bit. And the guy in the office is a jerk. He keeps telling me parking is a a privilege... Whatever! We pay for it! It is in the lease contract: that means it's HIS OBLIGATION to write a pass in accordance to our contract. Again, Barbara NEVER gave me lip about parking. The guy's a dumbass. Depending on what building you move in you're experience will be different.
My first year, most of my neighbors were quiet, and we had no problems. However, as they moved out, they were replaced by a group of seven men that lived in a two bedroom unit. I'm hispanic myself, but these guys loiter all night long and leave cigarette buds and empty cans in the entrance. There's a "no loitering" sign, but I don't think they speak/read English. My upstairs negihbors complain of my loud tv in the livignroom (two of the seven guys there sleep on mattresses in the living room, if they slept in the bedrooms they wouldn't even hear the my TV. They have a stereo in one of the bedrooms that plays SUPER LOUD MEXICAN MUSIC on sundays at 9:00AM.
So depending on your neighbors this place may be good or bad for you. After three years,I give management 8/10, but because the issue witht he neighbors 5/10.
