Better off elsewhere

I have to precipitate my review with the fact that we were the first people to live in our apartment. That being said, we obviously had to deal with a lot of construction noise and problems. We had mice move into our garage (and cars) and dealt with the nails in the road (and resulting flat tires). We also went 3 MONTHS without cable because our apartment had been wired incorrectly. Cox had to come out and knock holes in the walls to find a severed cable. Although we kept the office abreast of our situation, they had no sympathy and offered no assistance or rent discount whatsoever. We also had difficulty with our phone lines and went almost 5 weeks without a phone - the same response from the office.
We found the staff to be unsupportive and sometimes rude. When we were locked out of the front gate, a maintenace man yelled at my husband and I from his apartment window that we needed to walk almost a mile in the rain to a phone booth and call for "lock-out service". We offered to show him our driver's licenses to prove that we lived there and explained (as if he couldn't tell) that I was very pregnant. He proceeded to close his window and ignore us. We found a way in.
Overall, we were not impressed and when we received our renewal letter for a $125/month increase and the annual amenity fee of $350.00 we opted to move out instead.
