When we first decided to move in, we discussed the ant issue that we had read about on this website with the leasing consultants. They assured us that ants were not an issue and, regardless, exterminators could come weekly if necessary.
They were necessary. Ants overrode our home from the first day we moved in. They were in our master bedroom and both bathrooms. I woke up and put my hand into a swarm of ants turning off the alarm clock on my second day in the Hermitage.
We also found a large silverfish on our ceiling when we woke up one morning, but haven't seen any since.
The ants are still alive and kicking over three months later despite the fact that we requested extermination services weekly.
In addition to the ant issue, which I find disgusting, we had issues with keys, water, and the AC.
For the three of us, there were only two sets of keys made originally. We waited patiently for the third set, which did not work.
Our AC unit did not work when summer hit and took 3 days to fix.
We had a leak in the pantry that also took 3 days to fix.
There was a water main break that left us waterless for one day.
We agree that the office staff severely lacks customer service skills after move-in.
The sign out front reads: When location matters, live here.
It should read: When location, and nothing else, matters, live here.

I just want to offer you some advise with the ants. In our last apartment we had a terrible ant issue, they were everywhere, and nothing that the exterminator did made the slightest difference. So this is what we did, we bought the powder that you would normally put outside for ants, and put that down where we could where we thought they were... Sure enough they were gone! Good luck! |
