I have to agree with many others on this site who had a difficult time leaving the Hermitage. From what I can tell, the Hermitage basically replaces the carpeting after each tenant leaves and tries to get the old tenants to pay for this expense by coming up with bogus excuses. The Hermitage initially said that there were "stains and odor" on my carpeting after I left (which I know to be entirely untrue, as I am a total neat freak and would never allow that to happen in the place I live). They said that they had pictures and confirmation from the carpeting company as proof. I followed up on their bluff, requesting these photos and calling the carpeting company. No photos were produced after MANY requests and the carpeting company said they didn't know why the carpeting was replaced. I submitted my dispute in writing, and not only did the Hermitage not respond, they sent me to collections!!!!!! Then they pulled out the small print on the lease saying that I owed them money because I didn't do a final walk-through (which they told me by mouth I didn't have to do before I moved out). Beware of this complex - they will lie and screw you over. And, INSIST on an initial and final walk-through, as I was never afforded either one!
