Ok, my parents were a bit skeptical after reading some of the reviews, but ultimately, the staff and price won us over. My roommate and I have an apartment at the front and maybe that helps. We saw a few roaches after we moved in, but since the building was treated, we haven't had any problems. Our neighbors have been very cool. We can take the Cue bus to campus for free (which is great considering the cost of gas and parking). They take pets, so we're thinking about getting a kitty. My parents feel good knowing the police station is near by. Parking has been great for us, but visitors coming late at night may have to walk a little. Our apartment is old but it was freshly painted and the floors are beautiful. The parking lot is dark, but we don't see people hanging out, which is good. There isn't a pool, but we have one at school anyway. Oh, my roommate blew a fuse or something, and the repairman came right away. He's polite and doesn't say much, but he was in and out quickly and we haven't had a problem since.

I call bs! I lived there for several years and personally know better. I just ran into one of my former neighbors today on the bus who informed me they just recently moved, because they could no longer take the constant bed bug inspections, roaches, mold & mildew and general poor taste in judgment on the part of management. No way is this person speaking of the same Layton Hall near Willard Way shopping center! They must be blind and deaf not to notice the drunk guys hanging in the parking lot leering and catcalling at women. Insanity!

I suspect the author of this review is either oblivious or accustomed to run-down apartments. Finding accommodations elsewhere is still highly recommended for anyone who doesn't want to find cockroaches crawling on them while they sleep or leering proletarians in the parking lot.

You really should move on with your life. Have a baby, get a hobbie, volunteer at a homeless shelter. It must be nice to think you're better than others. What would Jesus say?
