Decent area...just some things to note before you lease..

FYI: Although this apartment community is surrounded by two other apartment communities, the area is somewhat quiet. These apts are not a luxury apts.
My apartment was in a cul-de-sac so I didn't experience any real problems except for parking. As always parking is a hassle at night-time since no parking-tags are needed. There's usually room at the other complex's parking lot sometimes if it's late at night. But you got to be careful since the lighting isn't as bright as it should be. Shrubs and lawn was maintained well..
The good thing is that the mgmt is nice and maintenance staff are pretty good. They've been good about fixing problems (we had our bathtub leak and faucet broken) in a timely manner. Also, the outside maintenance is good as well--they keep good care of the lawn, plants and etc.
During snow and blizzard, they did a good job shovelling the sidewalks. However, the complexes took long time to plow the snow on the parking lots and driving in the lots during ice and snow was BAD! (I'm not sure which apartment complex was in charge since they practically share the parking roadways).
When you move in they repaint and recarpet the rooms for you. The complexes are pretty old so the cabinetry, dishwasher and fridges are old also. All utitilies were included in my lease, which was nice.
Washing machines and dryers are public and pay-per-use. They're pretty horrible to use since they're half the size of a normal one. TOO EXPENSIVE for a half sized washer!!! So I suggest using the laundromat or a friend's house.
The thermostat for the heating was pretty cheap--it either was hot or super warm or cold. You can sometimes hear neighbors above you when they jump or run around--the floor squeaks but that's all I've experienced. I couldn't hear people in apts next to us.
The most problem we had was that we had a roach problem nearing the end of our lease--but then again, that might be my dirty family member' fault. We got rid of the roaches once but they came back again.
I'd recommend it, but make sure that the mgmt fumugate the rooms to get rid of all the vermin before you move in. The price included all utilities (except washer/dryer) so I say it's ok as a temporary place to live in. I don't think it's good for the long run....
