I lived in Oakton Park for a full year and attempted many times to break the lease because of the hell I was encountering at this apartment complex. I agree too that you might as well live in the ghetto. The number one problem is the management. It's a strange coincidence that EVERYONe agrees that the management staff at Oakton Park is absolutely ridiculous. Please do not put yourself through this torture of even meeting this individuals. They do not care about a soul thing except your money. Don't even bother calling the office, they're at no use to you. The trash is disgusting, gets over filled and not emptied. Nothing gets fixed, everything is so dirty. There are mobs of nasty perverted men scattered around the neighborhood. I never felt safe and GOD FORBID you invite a guest over. Might as well pick them up at Denny's down the road, since that's the closest parking space for visitors you'll find. The most horrid expereince of my life. PlEASE PLEASE don't put yourself through this. You may think, Yes this is a nice apartment on the inside, nice and spacious, but it's only there to fool you for what you're about to encounter.
