I'm not sure where to start with the crappiness. Well, I guess I'll just list:

1. If you decide to get a three-bedroom apartment, the master bedroom is pretty much in a constant state of extreme heat in the summer and extreme cold in the winter.
2. The carpeting is so low-grade it seems to accumulate spots merely from people walking on it. The appliances, kitchen cabinets, and linoleum on the kitchen floor are similarly cheap; in my apartment, various parts of the stove have been falling off since I moved in. Also, mildew forms on bathroom ceilings and fixtures in spite of the fans and repeated cleaning.
3. The visitor parking is, as has been pointed out many times over, almost zilch. Basically, if you want to have friends over any later than ten at night then they have to walk (or you have to pick them up) from the Best Western. Unless, of course, you want to let them get towed and pay $100-$150 to get their car back from King's Towing, a company that works with the OPA leasing office.
4. It's not an especially safe place, as shortly after I moved in a hitman was arrested in the complex, and a few weeks ago there was a sexual assault in the building next to mine.
5. Bug infestation is a big problem. I've been to a couple of different buildings in the complex, and every building seems to have a different bug. Roaches, silverfish, crickets...in my building, it is bedbugs. Some residents have been forced to throw out their mattresses, pillows, and other infested furniture and are not receiving any compensation from the leasing office.
6. I moved in here because I am a college student and it is what my roommates and I could afford, but for what we have to put up with this is simply overpriced.

Sexual Assault? Do you mean the guy that attempted to pull down a girls pants and then ran away? Its a shame that you claim to know so much about Oakton Park but you don't even have correct info on you list.
