I lived here for 2 years, and like I said in the title- I really think your experience depends on who your neighbors are. If you have considerate neighbors you will probably be just fine, but if you don't you will probably be miserable. The first year we had nice neighors and never had a problem, but the second year we lived above young men who were pretty rude and inconsiderate (VERY loud, parties until 3am, etc., etc). There were several apartments with young tenants on our block whose cars you could hear coming a mile away. Yes, all apartments have some noise issues, but trust me, it is not normal to be able to hear conversations in the apartment below you (as we could). We also had a lot of damage done to our cars during our time at Penderbrook. We went on vacation right before we moved, and upon our return I discovered a large gash on my drivers side door (wasn't there when we left - my car is also new). My husband had about $500 in damage done to his car.

The office staff is usually pretty nice, but we did have problems with their response to maintenance issues - we had a window that basically had no seal left and water would drench the carpet when it rained. We told them about it several times, and they never bothered to replace it.
