Is it for the service' No, definitely not. Asking the office to do anything for you is like pulling teeth! They have their abhorant rules and they enforce them with absolutely no exceptions.

Is it for the convenience' No. When I ask for a schedule for maintenence the office refuses to tell me, even approximately, what time they will be entering my apartment.

Is it for the amenities' If you like working out 3 inches from the person next to you, not being able to swim evenings, and not using the hot tub half of the year, then sure!

How about the aparment itself' While the apartment is decent, it is definitely old. Both tubs are worn out, the sinks need a lot of work, the dishwasher is probably an original and the sliding doors get stuck constantly. The kitchen is more like an efficency. Don't expect to cook Thanksgiving dinner here. The insulation is horrible. I can, right now, hear every word my neighbor below is saying on the phone. I assume she can hear everything I do above her.

The only saving grace of this apartment complex is it's willing and helpful maintenence staff. They really do seem to do their job the best they can... too bad we have to talk to the office to work with them!

It's complete and absolute snobbery. However, I can't figure out what they have to be snobby about!!!
