Good place to live - but expensive increases year after year.

Years at this apartment: 2004 - 2007
I have lived here for three years now in a two bedroom, two bath garden style. They will be raising my rent $70 this year compared to $60 last year. They are starting to price themselves out of the market and I am considering moving after the next go around across 66 to the privately owned condos where I can rent for cheaper with the same amenities.
Pros: I rarely hear my neighbors, spacious apartments, location to Metro, washer/dryer in apartment, ability to paint walls, Francesca in the front office
Cons: traffic noise is loud by Lee Highway - so get an apartment further in, lack of space to relax/children play, parking is tight, kids playing in the parking lot, the maintenance is horrific: When I first moved in in 2005 Regent's Park they offered a 24-hour guarantee that a maintenance worker would show with money back if they did not. Now this offer is no longer offered and a water leak in my apartment took three days to fix. Thank goodness is was a relatively slow leak. The emergency maintenance phone person didn't quite seem to get what a water leak was or speak English well. I had to follow up two days later to get someone here. I still have not had some water damage fixed in my apartment and it has been almost a year. The roof outside my apartment has been leaking since October 2006.
Luther Jackson Middle School is okay, but if your child goes to Marshall Road Elementary they will be split from their friends as everyone on the north side of 66 goes to Thoreau Middle School. Only those on the south of 66 go to Luther Jackson Middle School, which is a very small percentage of kids.
