broad falls is the best of what's left in the old falls church. i've tried a few other places near by and they can't compare. sure, broad falls has issues, what does one expect when the management company doesn't care about anything other than the profits. but least the walls are thick, there's proper insulation between the walls and the costs of the apartments are still fair for the current market. the windows don't leak and utilities are paid.
i've tried a nearby place from broad falls and the walls are terribly thin, no insulation the market price is beyond most in the area. the windows leak terribly and the ceilings cave in or crack. the basement floors flood and sewage backs up often. there are no locks on the outside so anyone can come in and stand around for hours with no one to stop them from snooping around, talking on the cell phone all hours and wandering picking the mail locks.
yet another place has the same issues, leaky windows, poor management, no locks on outside doors, bad or old locks on mailboxes that can be easily picked or break off. i've seen knobs, latches and locks patched together with duct tape!
another place even closer by has issues with trash, animal feces, locks being picked, cars being broken into or damaged. parking is a hazard! ground floors with huge cracks and seeping sewage from adjacent buildings.
for those who complain about broad falls, try a few of the left over other alternatives and you will be screaming to get back to broad falls.
not kidding, after a few failed tries and a lost 12 years i'm so sick of what choices i've made i'm glad to be back and i hope broad falls has at least a good 10 years left on it. i know the other buildings really don't have much of a better chance honestly. i hear one building is going to be around 20 years another 10, sure not in your life not with the development going on.
give it a rest, i wish owners and managers would stop lying and just be open about the situation. then again i don't have to worry about this fuss now i'm sitting still until i get the news that broad falls is going to the next development then i'll just move out of northern virginia.
sure broad falls has problems but not like the surrounding so called better places. it's a crock, just sit still and appreciate what is left of probably one of the strongest older apartment buildings that are left.
