Not luxurious but simple & comfortable

I lived at Broad Falls for two years and had a very good experience. It was just what I was looking for as all the other apts in the area either seemed to be overpriced luxury complexes or cheaper places that looked unsafe/sketchy. This place, on the other hand, was right in the middle, simple and comfortable.
I don't know if Valora still works in the office, but she was always very courteous & sincere with me, something I appreciated after living in a larger complex that had a lot of turnover in the office. I could always tell that Valora actually cared about her tenants & wanted people to have a positive experience.
The building is a little old, and the water did get turned off a couple times a year while I was there for repairs. They always gave notice the day before by posting notices on the elevators and/or under the doors, but one time I didn't see the notice until the next morning when it had already been turned off. These repairs were also during the week, daytime hours, so if you work regular business hours, you won't even notice it, but if you're home during the day, it is a bit of a nuisance but manageable if you plan ahead.
My AC wasn't working one time, but it was promptly repaired. The staff also came in my apt I think once a year for a quick check, but they gave advance notice.
The apartment itself was noticeably older than the spiffy remodeled luxury apartments with the bathroom tile showing some wear, etc., but I didn't really care. It was clean and free of unwanted guests. (Exterminators came once or twice a year to spray a small amount of something in the kitchen, but supposedly in a way that doesn't harm people or pets' health. There's no odor.) My apartment was very quiet with just a little noise from neighbors. The parking lot and building felt safe to me, and the neighbors were friendly but kept to themselves.
The price was great and was only increased a very small amount my second year, as opposed to the luxury places that tend to go up 100/year. The location was very convenient with restaurants, the library, post office, & many other places within walking distance. The West Falls Church Metro was about a 20-minute walk or a short bus or taxi ride away.
