I lived at this apartment complex for 3 years... I liked the area, it is very convenient, bus stop is right in front of the building, Safeway is a block away, it is a nice area to live at but... this apartment building is in poor conditions. There is mold in the walls; the maintenance in this building is very poor. The air conditioning unit in my bedroom leaked and the carpet around the air conditioning unit was always wet and now there is green mold and the carpet is rotten because they never cleaned up. I had a very nice cherry wood dresser that I had to throw away because I had placed it against the wall and it rot away from the mold on the wall. I would have never known either had it not been that I was rearranging the bedroom.
And the roaches in that building is just terrible, you walk in the building and you will see them crawling on the hallways. They are all over the place, they do not exterminate like should, it is disgusting, you have to live paranoid that they dont crawl up your bed when you are sleeping and embarrassing because they get in your purse or bag.
There laundry room has only 8 washing machines and 8 dryers for the entire building and there are over 20 apartments on each floor. (8 floors) People steal your clothes or will take out your clothes from the washers or dryers and not wait.
The noise is also terrible, you can hear kids and adults running in the hallways on your floor and the floor above and you can hear them all the way into your bedroom. You can also hear people drive through the parking lot at 12-2:00 a.m. with their music blasting. One thing that is good that I could NEVER hear the neighbors in their apartments... unless they had the windows open and I had mine open.
Please think twice, if you move into this building. The managers/owners do not care about the lessee or the maintenance at all. Believe me you do not want this kind of hassle.

I for one am sadden to hear that this apartment has gone down the tube... years ago, 1975-1977 I lived there, my husband at the time was the maintance man there, it was a wonderful and beautiful place to live... it was filled with , both single and married, young to retirement, and no children... my son was the only child there, we left when he was two... I loved my apartment, we had the 2-bedroom that went behind the elevators on the 8th floor... what a shame that this, what used to be, a grand place to live.. I know I'm most likely to a lot older that you all in here, but the Church Hill was, at one time, a great place to live... just sign me as... once a resident, back in the day..

Yes, I've spoken to several people that say this apartment building was once grand and beautiful, like a hotel. Unfortunately, everything changed when the new owners S&S Property Mgmt. took over. They property managers (brothers and owners) don't care about anything other than collecting your rent.

You spoke the truth about what was than and now. Yes I heard this also about how Church Hill apartment use to be, not now with these two brothers it shows differently you better believe it. I have lived in a house before, so living in an apartment is different for me. I still am aware though of kindness and respect for others. This apartment has none of that. I do wish though that people would take better care of where they live and treat it like they were buying the property, even so paying rent is still money out of the pocke for some. For the people that stay in packs like animals...please be considerate of people that are hard working citizens and take care of what they pay hard earned money for, stop working on your cars in the parking lot and throwing trash were it don't go. Please pay money and go to the auto shop or gas station..that's what it's meant for. Please, I don't need to say any more appearance speaks loudly. Let the potential renters see for themselves.
