I lived at Fairfax Towers for about a year.

I must say, generally if your a person that has a full time job and is almost never home or you need a ride to the metro, Fairfax towers is generally an ok place to live.

But there are definitely negatives and positives to living there as their are anywhere.

The management and maintenance staff are responsive and will try to resolve your issues as quick as possible.

I must say the worst and most annoying thing I had to deal with at Fairfax towers was the noise. If you ever move in make sure you ask if the apartment is going to be
1) Close to the trash trucks that come every Saturday morning at 7:30am and at least two other times a week. These trucks come on both sides of the building and sound like an Earthquake in the morning. Make sure you are not stuck on floor 1-3 or you will hear every move the trash trucks make.
2) When I moved in I was told that the wall were sealed and cemented, but that was definitely not the case as I could hear everything my neighbors said and did during the day and at night.
3) There was a black acura integra I believe that had the rims stolen off of it in broad daylight and I remember the police showed up a day later to check on it.

Other then these small issues, Fairfax towers is pretty decent, but I do definitely think the cost is a little high given that the apartment I have is very small. It is easy to jump on the shuttle and get to DC in the morning. They have a 7-11 like store in the building that opens till 9 or 10pm. They have a very large gym compared to many apartment buildings.

I also don't think they have a party room though which is something I would like to see them add. If you live in a small apartment you cant invite more then a couple people at a time and you would definitely be disturbing your neighbors if you did.
The Rennisance apartment building right down the street has a beautiful party room (of course the Rennisance is much more expensive).
