Modern Luxury

From: -Anonymous-
Date posted: 9/30/2003
Years at this apartment: 2003 - 2003

Pros:
- Location, location, location. You are near everything in the NoVa area, 495, 66, 29, 50, 7. You have a movie theatre down the road, shopping center around the corner, Grevey's around the corner (if you're a Hokie fan), and you are just a stone's throw from both Tyson's Corner and Fair Lakes.

- Modern. The apartments are fairly new and it shows. It's designed for modern living, with emphasis on plugs on every wall, networking jacks, higher than average ceilings, deeper tubs.

- Elevator. Good for moving in/out, and brining in heavy equipment, or even groceries.

- Secure buildings. Visitors must use a callbox at the front of the building if they wish to enter.

- Free parking. Parking around the building is free, however, if you want a good spot you need to park before 8 PM.

- Friendly staff. They even hold onto UPS/FedEx packages for you if you're not home when they deliver.

- People/cars. If you're in to expensive cars, you see plenty here. You will even see famous people, ie Jerry Stackhouse is a known basketball season tennant.

CONS:

- Price. It is expensive to live here. If you don't make at least around $50,000, you would be really taxing your budget. I wouldn't have lived here except that they gave us a pro-rated 2 months free.

- Smell. If you go into the garage area, it SMELLS! Mildew and trash is what you smell down there. They have essentially an indoor trash unit in the garage that gives off a disturbing smell. The stairwells also have a musty smell.

- Covered Parking. This is expensive too. Unless you have a car you really need to cover, just use the spaces out front.

- Noisy. If you're not on the top, you will hear the people above you. It's not too loud, but loud enough to scare you out of deep sleep. Also the windows have very minimal sound proofing, so I am awaken to the sounds of construction every morning at 7 AM, except on weekends it's 10 AM.

- Small patio. The back patio is tiny, not ideal for much more than getting fresh air.
