I dont want to move (especially after reading the reviews of the THIRTY other places Im considering: not a one seems acceptable!), but I have to. Same job, but now Ill be commuting downtown for school, and with this location, itll be an hour roundtrip for both (something I want to avoid).







I dont want to move because this place has been a dream to live in, and weve even had problems (major structural leakage problem was discovered in the wall of our guest room - three day renovation - they put us up in a hotel and paid for our meals for 2 of the 3 days - the leak is gone but the contractor did an abysmal job on repainting the wall - we told JP not to worry about it until after we move out, but they would have fixed it for us had we desired it).







The management staff, while occasionally cranky, is not at all inflexible or unhelpful, and are usually very friendly. The maintenance staff is very fast, very curteous, and is never messy or lazy. They always knock before they just open the door to enter. They tend to fix problems within 24 hours, unless its the weekend and not an emergency.







The apartment itself is gorgeous. Were in a Dalton on the ground floor, a corner unit with lots of natural light. The appliances are new like everything else here. However, the place is NOT well insulated, particularly around windows, so be prepared for some major electric bills.







Its also a very quiet community and the building is very noise resistant. We are barely aware that other people live here (even our upstairs neighbor, whom we very rarely hear at all).







I ABSOLUTELY recommend spending the extra $50/month for a garage space. You will never, ever, ever regret it.







There isn?t a crime problem and the police are almost always in the neighborhood, but there are some very small (easy to miss) gang tags in some of the hallways -- Gangster Disciples mostly, a small star of David with a G on the left and a D on the right, probably just to mark territory. When there have been breakins or vadalisms, they?ve put out bulletins warning residents to be alert and take precautions (twice in the last year: both vandalisms, both probably directed at the specific owner of the vehicles vandalized).







Overall, I wish I could stay. Maybe I will, since I cant seem to locate another place this pleasant to live, commute be "darned."
