worth it

I moved in to Jefferson Park two months ago after looking at several complexs in the area and around Fairfax County, I decided on JP because I felt comfortable with the quality of the facility. It does cost a bit more than average and like the previous poster mentioned, I got a special price for the first year least and I wonder what they will do for the subsequent years, it could be a 300/mo increase. For now, I feel the price is worth it for the level of service you receive. It is a fairly small complex and the Sheila the property manager is responsive to most any need you have. Considering its small size and location it is a bargin compared to some other "luxury" apartments in the area that have obscenely high rents. The location is excellent, the apartments clean and modern, and overall it is very quiet. Parking is fairly good, I would recommend the extra 50/mo for an underground garage space especially if you have a nice vehicle. The Giant around the corner leaves some to be desired but Safeway, Whole Foods, and Trader Joes are 5-10 minutes away. There is a Golds Gym across the street which is nice. The "gym" at the complex is modern but tiny, only good for minor needs. Insulation is not the greatest as I am always switching between heat/ac/fan just to balance day and night temperatures and humidity levels. The quality of construction is decent, however high ceilings, soaking tub, modern appliances, etc are balanced by doors that dont quiet line up, non square counters, etc. I would have expected a bit more attention to detail however it doesnt affect the functionality. For those that care, water pressure is excellent. The side to side insulation is great, I never hear my next door neighboors but the top to bottom is not so good. The people above me are heavy walkers so I know every move they make. So far I would highly recommend, I will be sure to give another review closer to the end of my first year here. Unless they do something outrageous with the rent or my life situation changes, I plan on staying.

After a year and a half, is this place still worth checking out? Is it still run by JP?

This place has been converted to condos in the spring of 2005 and is now known as "High Pointe at Jefferson Park". Rentals that are available here would most likely come from individual owners (most of whom have postings on Craigslist), though there is an apartment management company that owns a few units.
